VMR allows diabetic patients to visualize, understand, and interact with their diabetic data in virtual reality. Patients play through a few experiences that help them understand how having type 2 diabetes can affect their health. They will virtually monitor, compare, and gauge their blood sugar levels through multiple experiences in the game, which will explain in detail the results of their daily glucose levels and average A1C. Patients can also experience the complications of unmanaged glucose levels: such as retinopathy (diabetic eye disease) and neuropathy (nerve damage in hands and feet).
Roles: Producer | Designer
I am the producer on VMR. But with a small team, we all get to wear multiple hats. I've conducted research, tested usability, iterated on design, and have presented our work on a weekly basis. I get to work alongside two other developers: Matt Barnes (Artist) and Stephen Doná (Engineer). We are currently working on additional experiences that will help patients understand A1C comparison and educate them about the effects of Neuropathy. |
